Frequently asked questions
How does the 14-day free trial work?
Sign up with no card required, and add as many devices as you like during the trial - monitoring and alerts (email, text, and call) all work normally. If you haven't added a card by the end of the 14 days, monitoring and your check history keep running, but alerts pause until you add one. Adding a card at any point - during or after the trial - turns alerts back on right away.
What counts as a billable device?
Only devices you've turned "Active" count toward your $2/device/month - a device you switch off doesn't bill. You can add or remove devices any time; next month's invoice reflects your device count automatically, with no separate charge mid-month.
What kinds of devices can AlertAny monitor?
Anything with an IP address (ping or a specific port), and temperature/humidity sensors that report readings on a schedule. Routers, firewalls, servers, POS systems, security panels, and freezer or cooler sensors are all common examples.
How do alerts actually reach me?
Email, text message, and phone call - pick any combination per Alert Profile, and assign a profile to one device, several devices, or a whole account. Alerts repeat on an interval you set until someone acknowledges the problem, and a separate "back to normal" notice goes out once it recovers. Quiet hours let you silence non-critical alerts overnight without turning off monitoring itself.
Is AlertAny a guaranteed way to know about an outage?
No - it's a monitoring and notification tool, not a guarantee. We can't promise every alert is delivered (a carrier outage, a full inbox, or a network problem on your end can all block a notification), so AlertAny should be one part of how you watch critical equipment, not the only one.
How does SMS and voice calling work - do I need my own Twilio account?
No - text messages and phone calls send from AlertAny's own shared number, so there's nothing for you to set up or pay for separately on that front. Email alerts send from AlertAny's own address as well.
Can I sign in with my Microsoft account?
Yes - "Sign in with Microsoft" is available on the login page alongside a regular email and password.
Can I show status on a TV or tablet in my office?
Yes - the kiosk display is a no-login, always-on view of your fleet's status, meant to be left open on a screen in a lobby, office, or NOC.
Can I get a PDF or a recurring emailed report?
Yes - both temperature and device (reachability/uptime) reports can be viewed on-screen, exported as a PDF, sent once by email, or scheduled to email automatically on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence.
How do I cancel?
From your account's billing page, or by emailing us - cancelling stops future billing without refunding the period you've already paid for, and your service keeps running normally through the end of that period. There are no long-term contracts.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your device configuration and check history are yours. We retain it for a reasonable period after cancellation in case you come back, then delete it - if you'd like it deleted sooner or exported first, just ask. See the Privacy Policy for details.
